Advantages of SMS materials for protective clothing

SMS nonwoven fabric, full name Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond, where S stands for spunbond and M stands for meltblown, that is, spunbond-meltblown-spunbond nonwoven fabric, is a three-layer composite nonwoven fabric.
- Filtration performance: The middle layer of Meltblown nonwoven fabric has a microfiber structure, which can effectively filter bacteria, viruses and other tiny particles.
- High strength: Due to the use of the Spunbond process, SMS nonwoven fabric has high tensile strength and tear strength, and can withstand certain mechanical pressure.
- Good breathability: SMS nonwoven fabric has good breathability, and the wearer will not feel stuffy when wearing it for a long time.
- Good comfort: The material is soft, non-irritating to the skin, and comfortable to wear.
SMS nonwoven fabric performs well in terms of protective performance, and its filtration efficiency can reach more than 99%, which has a good barrier effect on tiny particles such as bacteria and viruses. However, its protective performance is affected by the following aspects:
- Hydrostatic pressure: Due to the large pores of non-woven fabrics, the hydrostatic pressure of SMS non-woven fabrics is low and the waterproof performance is relatively poor.
- Liquid penetration: When encountering high-speed sprayed liquid, the protective performance of SMS non-woven fabrics will be reduced and cannot completely prevent liquid penetration.
